Mr. Manuel (“Manny”) Rubio has served as an advisor to numerous companies, funds and other institutions over the last twenty years. As a member of the board of directors of two publicly traded companies, Mr. Rubio advised such companies and their managements on legal and financial matters, as well as the development and implementation of their business plans and funding strategies. As a principal of two venture capital/private equity funds, Mr. Rubio helped developed the underlying business strategy and supervised the investment process.
While serving in the U.S. State Department as a Foreign Service Officer attached to the U.S. Embassy in Panama, Mr Rubio was a principal advisor on matters such as the Panama Canal, aviation, maritime, money laundering, international trade and economic matters. In this role, he briefed and advised senior Embassy personal on such matters and their relationship to U.S. policy. Mr. Rubio also served as a briefer to Cabinet Secretaries, Congressmen and other high-level government officials, as well as private industry executives, on a wide range of topics, such as the potential effects on the U.S. economy and businesses of the expansion of the Panama Canal, the benefits of the proposed U.S.-Panama Free Trade Treaty and the investment climate in Panama. Mr. Rubio advised numerous companies and individuals seeking to invest or do business in Panama.
From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Rubio served as a member of the Board of Trustee of Fordham Preparatory School in New York, advising the school on various matters, such as its funding requirements, budget, capital improvement plans and recruitment program.
